What is a Prepaid Card?
Prepaid is an innovative way to manage your money. A prepaid card looks, feels and works similar to a debit card, and can be topped up like a mobile.
Prepaid cards are NOT debit cards or linked to a bank account. Only the funds that have been loaded on the card can be spent. There are no credit or overdraft facilities, and no fees/penalties from these services. Prepaid cards can be used at ATMs and to purchase items wherever the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark is shown.

What is Y Cash?
Y Cash is a prepaid card scheme developed by Green Y the commercial arm of Young Enterprise East of England, part of the UK's leading business and enterprise education charity.

Who is the charity?
Young Enterprise East of England, part of the UK's leading business and enterprise education charity. It offers a range of programmes, based on the principle of learning by doing, which brings volunteers from business to the classroom to work with students and teachers.

Can I/we become a partner of the scheme?
If you are a student organisation you can get involved by emailing Young Enterprise at info.eastengland@yeee.org.uk or calling 014 3874 6100.

How do I purchase a Y Cash Card?
You can purchase the Y Cash Card online, using a debit or credit card or with a Ukash voucher. Ukash Vouchers can be purchased at various outlets throughout the UK, or online at www.ukash.co.uk. Alternately you can submit a paper application accompanied with a postal order or cheque for the card purchase fee.

How do I qualify for the Y Cash Student Card?
You must be between the ages of 13 to 25 years, in full-time education and be able to provide proof of UK residence. If you are under the age of 18 years parent/guardian consent is required.

How do I raise money for my school, college or university?
During the application process you will be requested to nominate an educational organisation (currently offering East of England only). Then by using your card a proportion of the profits generated will be automatically donated to the nominated organisation.

How do I qualify for the Y Cash Card?
You must be at least 18 years old and be able to provide proof of UK residence.

How long will it take for my card to arrive?
Your card will arrive within 28 days from purchase.

What is the Customer Service information?
Customer Service 0871 641 9981 lines open 9am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Calls cost 6p per minute.

How do I obtain my PIN?
To activate your card and obtain your PIN you will need to call 0844 855 2464. Please have your 16 digit card number and access code available before making the call. Your access code will be provided to you when you purchase your card.
If you encounter any problems retrieving your PIN please call Customer Service.

Can I change my PIN?
Yes, you can change your PIN at any ATM that offers this service.

How do I top up my Y Cash Card?
You can top up in the following ways:
Online with debit or credit card, with your
mobile using SMS or M-Payment Platform. You can top up at the Post Office or you can set up a standing order or a bank transfer.

Once I've loaded my Y Cash Card how long until I can start spending?
If you make a mobile top up you can start spending within minutes. Online transfers can take up to a maximum of 2-3 hours to load. If you load via a Post Office it may take up to 2 working days to credit to your card.

Where can I use my Y Cash Card?
You can use your card wherever the MasterCard Acceptance Mark is displayed, in shops, online, abroad, over the telephone and mail order.
Every time you use your card your balance is electronically checked at the time of purchase to ensure there are enough funds to cover the transaction. In some circumstances your card may be declined because there is not enough money available. This security feature exists to protect you from spending monies that you do not have.

Are there fees associated with Y Cash?
There are different fees for both Y Cash Student and Y Cash Card.
Card issue fee - provides you with a card.
Card top up/load fee - enables the cardholder to load money onto the card. The fee will differ depending on the type of load, such as credit card or from a bank account which may incur external fees.
ATM withdrawal fee - there is a charge for withdrawing money from an ATM. ATM charges may vary.

Can I use my Y Cash Card to withdraw money from an ATM?
Yes, you can withdraw money from most ATMs worldwide, providing the MasterCard Acceptance Mark is visible. Student withdrawals are charged at £0.99 per ATM withdrawal in the UK, non-student withdrawals are charged at £2.00 per ATM withdrawal. If you are outside the UK you will be charged 2.75% of the transaction value (plus additional ATM network charges).

Can I use my Y Cash Card abroad?
Yes, you can use your card worldwide, providing the MasterCard Acceptance Mark is visible. Transactions and withdrawals are charged at 2.75% of the transaction value when you are outside of the UK (plus additional ATM network charges). Please refer to 'Fees' for further information.

Can I use my Y Cash Card to shop online, over the phone and by mail order?
Yes, you can use your card at any retailer that accepts MasterCard.

Can I use my Y Cash Card to make regular payments?
Yes, you can make regular payments for things such as subscriptions, or bill providing MasterCard is accepted.

How much can I load onto my Y Cash Card?

Can I receive account information by Mobile?
Yes, you can receive card account information by SMS such as balance, top up, new PIN and report lost/stolen. Alternately you can opt for M-Payments Platform a highly secure mobile platform that offers additional services such as account statements, funds transfer and much more. Check 'Mobile Services' for further information.

What is MasterCard SecureCode?
SecureCode provides extra security when you use your Y Cash Card online.
Note: This service is only provided when online merchants are participating in the MasterCard SecureCode Scheme.

How do I enrol my card in MasterCard SecureCode?
Login to your account and select MasterCard 3DSecure, and follow the prompts. You will need to create a memorable word

Note: For security we recommend you use a password different to that which you use to login to your account.

I am having trouble using my Y Cash Card?
Firstly check that you have activated your card online or by calling Customer Service.
If you've already activated your card, you have used it and it will not work, check your balance to see if you have enough funds. You may need to load more money onto your card.
Also check your card expiry date, to ensure it has not expired.
If we have reason to believe your card is being used for fraudulent or illegal activity we have the right to cancel the card immediately.
If you are still experiencing problems please contact our Customer Service.

My card is showing as in production, what does this mean?
This is generally due to system maintenance and should update to an active card within 48 hours, if this status persists please contact Customer Service.

My personal details have changed what should I do?
If your details have changed please 'Login' and go to the 'Your Account' section of the site and update your details accordingly.
To change certain personal details - such as name or address - you will need to contact Customer Service and you maybe required to provide documentary evidence of the change.

I need to cancel my Y Cash Card, what should I do?
You can cancel your Y Cash Card by sending an email to us at help@m-cube.co.uk, or by writing to us at PO Box 54274, London W14 0ZA, and confirming that you have destroyed your Y Cash card.
You have a legal right to cancel your card at anytime. However, you will be charged the Refund Fee if you do not request cancellation within 14 days of purchase. Once you have requested to cancel your card it will be blocked immediately.
If you require a refund you will need to notify us by writing 28 days prior to expiry.

What will happen when my card expires?
We will arrange for a new card to be sent to you prior to the expiry of the card, providing you do not cancel your card and you have enough funds remaining to cover the Renewal Fee.

What happens if my card gets lost or is stolen?
If your Y Cash Card is lost or stolen you must report it by phoning Customer Service immediately, or via the report lost/stolen section within your online account. You may also notify us by using SMS or M-Payments Platform. Upon doing so, your card will be blocked so it cannot be used be anyone else.

I have forgotten my username or password?
Please go to the Login page and select forgotten username or password. If you are still having difficulties please contact Customer Service.
